Who can get married at St. Margaret's ?

There are certain things that must happen in a church wedding to ensure the marriage complies with both UK civil and church law.

Lots of people marry in their own local church, but you might like to marry in a different church because it has special significance for you through family or other connections.

It is your responsibility to check that you qualify before contacting us to arrange an appointment.

Marriage preparation
We run a Marriage Preparation Course every year.  Each course runs for one full day and usually takes place on a Saturday.  Once your wedding is booked at St Margaret’s you will receive an invitation to come to one of these days, it is not compulsory but many couples have said how much they have valued and enjoyed the time.

Planning your Visit

Sunday Services

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at St Margaret’s Church for our Sunday Services . We usually have two services of differing styles on offer, Holy Communion will be celebrated at one of these services every week.

9am  This is a traditional service using liturgy from Common Worship, usually  with hymns
10.15am This is a more contemporay service with music led by our worship band, groups for children and young people and a longer sermon

We will hold a Unified service at 10am celebrating the best of both traditions. This will be for occasions such as Remembrance Sunday, Christmas Day, Easter Sunday, and our Patronal Festival. We will also come together as one church family when there is a 5th Sunday in the month.

In term time, children and young people start off in church at the 10.15am service and are invited to go to their groups although babies and children of all ages are welcome to stay in church at any time.
Contact our Youth and Community Leader for further details.

Coffee and tea is served after both services.

Accessibility: We have step-free access and a sound loop. There is an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities in both the church and the Orchard.
