Music at St Margaret's
Hello, my name is Libby, and I am the Director of Music at St Margaret’s Church, Chipstead.
Here at St Margaret’s, we have different styles of music worship, hoping that all who come to join us will find something that suits them.
We currently have eight musicians/singers who volunteer their services every Sunday. Some of our services are organ led, some are band led and some are a combination of both. Singing in harmony is a strong part of our worship and we also enjoy singing unaccompanied.
Three or four times a year the band offers a service called Kingdom Come. This service normally happens in our Orchard building and consists of a laid-back atmosphere, coffee and cake and a lot of sung worship.
At Christmas we have two services of Carols by Candlelight. A choir of thirty to forty from the congregation and elsewhere joins together, with rehearsals starting six weeks beforehand.
Occasionally we play music at our children’s events, and we also include children’s songs in our Sunday sung worship.
I hope I’ve helped to give a window into our music worship at St Margaret’s. If you’d like to know more, or get involved musically with St Margaret’s, please do not hesitate to contact me.
